J. T. HIGBY : TONIC BITTERS

There is not a lot of information about this Milford, Ct. square bitters bottle. We do know it was advertised in the 1883 Schieffelin Drug Catalog according to the Dr. Cannon's Medicine Chest Article. It was thought to be extremely rare until Charles B. Gardner of New London, Ct. acquired 150 of these bottles from a picker sometime in the early 1960s. Below are photos of this bottle. Its embossed J. T. HIGBY // TONIC BITTERS // MILFORD CT. It's 9 5/8 tall in a shade of amber.
