E.Y. GRIGGS: DR. JONES RED CLOVER TONIC E. Y. Griggs was born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 24 1820. He would get married to Mary T. Barnett who was from Louisville, Kentucky in August 7 1847. They both would move to Ottawa, Ill. in 1849. Mr. Griggs would open a drug and book store in Ottawa on September 1851. The sign read E. Y. Griggs. He and his wife would had four children, one daughter and three sons. The oldest son Allen G. would attend the Chicago Pharmacy College from 1870-1871 and would become a manufacture of Patent Medicines in Ottawa. Oakley the middle son would open a drug and book store in Streator, La Salle County Ill. And Clarence the youngest son was a lawyer in Ottawa. E.Y Griggs was a member of the Odd Fellows and past grand representative of the grand lodge of the state. There are two variants of these bottles.
