LOCKPORT GLASS COMPANY: FRUIT JAR: 1900-1919 In 1900 the Lockport Glass Company was established. This company was located on Michigan Street in Lockport, New York. This was a new glass company and not affiliated with the Lockport Glass Works which was established in the spring of 1840 by Twogood & Company. The Lockport Glass Company officers were W. W. Storrs president with O C. G Sutiff being vice president. The company produced fruit jars and pickle bottles along with other small containers. In 1919 the Thatcher Manufacturing Company who already owned glass plants in Elmira, Olean, Long Island City, New York and Streeter, Illinois would purchase the glass company. ![]() Below is just one of their fruit jars.
