DETRICK DISTILLING CO. : MOTTO JUG The Detrick Distilling Company issued a series of miniature "motto" jugs around the turn of the century. They were four inches in height and was atwo-tone stoneware with a slip top and a bristol glaze body. Detrick Distilling Company issued twelve different mottes. For every purchase a gallon of Detricks Whiskey you would get to choose a one of these mini jugs. Each jug would have a different slogan printed on the jug. The Motto jug below says "If you try me once you will try me again".  Some other slogans are "While we live let live" "To err is human, to forgive devine" "A friend in need is a friend indeed" "As I go up the hill of prosperity, May I never meet a friend""May fortune ever smile on you"Rye on toast"" Drink weary pilgram, for tomorrow you maydie.
